MAJOR INSPECTION 12 YEARS

144m/12 years maintenance inspection is undoubtedly the heaviest maintenance inspection for EC120b to maintain its airworthiness. The underlying assumption behind this inspection was an intuitive belief that because mechanical parts wear out, the reliability of any equipment is inversely related to its operating age.

The purpose of this inspection is to make sure that there is no corrosion, crack, distortion, loosened rivets, etc. on the structure and on its components. Inspection of the entire airframe throughout dismantling and detailed assessment of the aircraft are done with highest precision with adequate tooling and test equipment.
